Gabriel Dominguez, Ernesto Rendon, and Rachel Scarboro are the three recipients of the Department of Scientific Computing’s first scholarship award. The prize was created in 2016 to promote excellence in the field of Computational Science. High school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores and juniors were eligible to apply. Applicants were required to have a minimum cumulative GPA and be enrolled full-time in good standing. Each candidate wrote and submitted an essay which discussed what computational science means to them, and how computational science would help them achieve their career goals.

Dominguez (Freshman), Rendon (Sophomore) and Scarboro (Junior) will receive $2500 each during the Fall 2017 term.
