We are proud to announce that our PhD student, Jorge Eduardo Velasco Zavala, has been accepted and awarded a travel grant to attend the HPC4Climate Summer School 2025. The event will be held from 28 July to 7 August 2025 at DJH Jugendherberge Lauenburg in Lauenburg, Germany.
Jorge is a first-year doctoral student with a bachelor's degree in Geomatics from Mexico. His research focuses on applying machine learning techniques to generate interpolated sea surface height fields, aiming to improve short-term, data-assimilated ocean forecasts. This opportunity will allow him to further develop his expertise in high-performance computing for climate science alongside other emerging researchers in the field.
