Professor Michael Navon has been invited by the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences to attend the IAP-AMCG workshop on ocean modeling. Deputy-Director Jiang Zhu extended the invitation on behalf of the institute. The workshop will take place August 16 – 25, 2012 in Beijing, China.

The workshop and follow on meetings are designed to foster collaborations in scientific research and explore the future of ocean modeling between the institute and FSU.

Navon’s research varies widely, and includes extensive international collaborations on weather prediction, shallow water equation models, optimization models in meteorology, and various climate and environmental problems, in addition to ocean modeling.

For more information, visit Navon’s website or the home page of the FSU Department of Scientific Computing.
